In September 2019 we started Fitsteps FAB classes.
This is a latin and ballroom inspired workout created by Strictly pros Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite.
It is a dance fitness workout not a partnering class. It is ideal for complete beginners who want to learn some of the steps you see on Strictly in a fun and unpretentious class!
We start every class with a warm up which is a megamix of moves from some of the styles and then we learn short routines focusing on four key steps that are easy to follow.
Each half term we will have a ‘featured dance’ where we will spend a little bit more time on one particular dance so that there is a great feeling of accomplishment by the end of the term and making you feel confident on any dance floor!
Our first featured dance was the Charleston and we learnt two fast routines to ‘Friend Like Me’ and ‘Flash Bang Wallop’.
I did my training with Natalie Lowe and Ian Parker. Natalie is known for her years on Strictly and Ian is the Fitsteps master trainer, a true expert in all things dance and fitness! I’ve attended his classes a few times and highly recommend his class.
Ian’s classes are based in Warwickshire and he is one of the best instructors I’ve ever been to, definitely worth checking out Nobody’s Perfect Dance and Fitness.
I run my classes in courses every half term and newcomers are welcome to do a three week trial before signing up.
